Nicky Henderson Cheltenham Festival winners and 2024 runners
If there’s one man that can bring the challenge for the home team at the 2024 Cheltenham Festival, it’s Nicky Henderson.
The veteran Seven Barrows handler is the second most-successful trainer in Cheltenham Festival history having saddled a total of 73 winners heading into this year’s meeting.
He has trained some of the best in recent years including Sprinter Sacre, Buveur d’Air and Altior – and Champion Hurdle winner Constitution Hill, who has been ruled out of this year’s festival.
With his best horse out, Sir Gino is likely to be Henderson’s leading chance of a victory in the Triumph Hurdle on Friday. Jonbon runs in the Champion Chase and Shishkin is expected in the Gold Cup but they face tough competition.
Henderson has bagged a winner at the last 15 editions of the Cheltenham Festival and been the Top Trainer on three occasions, although his chances of lifting that trophy for a fourth time appear remote because of Willie Mullins’ battalion.
Here’s Nicky Henderson’s Cheltenham Festival record that makes him the leading British trainer in the history of the fiesta.
