No. 8 Kentucky takes down NIU with aerial attack
No. 8 Kentucky holds off Northern Illinois 31-23 in Saturday's game. Will Levis throws four touchdown passes, including two to Barion Brown. NIU made it a one-score game late but lost their third in a row. It was the second time in as many weeks that NIu lost to a Southeastern Conference school. It's the third 300-yard effort this season for Leis. He completed 18 of 26 passes for 303 yards. Barions Brown caught four passes and two scores for Kentucky.

Justin Lynch also lined up behind center but rushed seven times for 21 yards, including a late TD that got the Huskies within eight. Thornton made the most of his lone pass, taking a handoff and rolling right before hitting a wide-open Tewes for a score.
Kentucky won but might drop after having to work harder for this victory as a heavy favorite.
Northern Illinois shocked Kentucky with a wideout pass in the second quarter. The Huskies harassed Levis early and often but couldn't slow his receivers. Kentucky's pass protection remains a concern. Chris Rodriguez Jr. returns next week from a four-game suspension.
