DOWSON "DELIGHTED" WITH NORTHAMPTON'S NIGHT

Northampton director of rugby Phil Dowson is "delighted" to win tonight, he tells TNT Sports. "They're a tight group and they got the reward, just about, in the end," he's says of a group of players who overcame injuries and a Toulon fightback tonight.

As for match-winner Tom Lockett, it was a "huge" moment for a player who only made their European debut a week ago. "He's somebody who's done that this pre-season [improved] and looked to go forward."

MILLER THRILLED WITH GLASGOW PERFORMANCE

Glasgow's Ally Miller says reacting to last week's defeat was in the forefront of the players' minds tonight. "We talked about it a lot during the week, we knew it would be a big challenge coming here - crowd being immense, really on top of us the whole game," he says.

Miller jokes their plan to silence the crowd failed, but the macro plan did not. "Good team performance" is the diplomatic response to the question about his own super try, with the sevens circuit also given some credit.

Northampton are top of Pool 3 on 9 points and in a great position. Glasgow are up to third, on 4 points, level with Exeter Chiefs who will play Munster on Sunday.

Bayonne get a losing bonus point, taking them up to 3, while Toulon are bottom on 2 points. Munster also have 2.

LAWES NORTHAMPTON'S PLAYER OF THE MATCH

Courtney Lawes was picked by the TNT Sports pundits as the player of the match. "Great game, very back-and-forth. Toulon played great so props to them," he says with an Investec medal around his neck.

"We showed a lot of heart in the end there to come back and grasp it," he adds.

"The plan was same as always, just stick to our guns really. We've got a great attacking game and our defence is improving every week, you know. The defence again was the backbone of the performance today and that's what saw us out in the end."

Toulon, Lawes explains, have "a few world-class players" which is how the visitors grew into the game in the second period - but did not quite grow enough.

The clock has gone red in Bayonne, but the home side keep plugging away. They're in the Glasgow 22, but opt to keep driving rather than attempt a drop goal. Glasgow's defence is solid, and in the 82nd minute they are awarded a penalty. That'll do it - Glasgow win.
