Notre Dame football: Post-spring game-by-game predictions for 2023

With spring ball in the books and the transfer portal window closing, we have a better idea of what teams are going to compete around college football. That includes Notre Dame football.

The Irish had a fairly successful first season under Marcus Freeman, but fans are expecting more with a transfer quarterback in Sam Hartman coming over from Wake Forest. He had a fantastic spring and his dominance seemingly led to the transfer of Tyler Buchner.

There have been other transfers as well, but Notre Dame looks set and ready to compete for a playoff spot.

What do my updated post-spring game-by-game predictions look like?

This is a game that Notre Dame should have no problem winning to open the season and it’s truly one of the most interest and awe-inspiring events since it’ll be played in Dublin. Yes, the Irish will be playing in front of the Irish.

Navy has had a rough few years and Ken Niumatalolo has moved on, making way for Brian Newberry to be the head coach after being the team’s defensive coordinator. I think this rebuild is going to take a while and this game will prove that.

Prediction: Win (1-0)

I don’t know much about Tennessee State and I can guarantee that the average Notre Dame fan doesn’t either. The Tigers finished 4-7 last season and weren’t all that competitive and now they’ll get to travel to Notre Dame to open their season against a potential top-10 FBS team.

Yeah, this one should get ugly.
