  • Forest was humbled by Spurs in a 3-1 loss on Saturday.
  • Newcastle returns to winnings ways with 2-1 win over Wolves on Sunday.

Nottingham Forest is in danger of slipping back into a relegation battle following five matches without a win. Newcastle put a halt to their run of poor form with a win over Wolves on Sunday and will be looking to bolster their bid for European football next season with a win here.

Game Preview

Nottingham Forest has only won once away from home this season and their traveling blues continued against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. Two goals from Harry Kane and one from Son were enough to sink Steve Cooper’s men and a late consolation goal from Joe Worrall was just the fourth Forest have scored on the road this season. Forest has now gone five games without a victory and is in danger of sliding back toward the relegation places which they have so ably moved away from in recent months.

Newcastle ended a run of six games without a win by defeating Wolves 2-1 at St James’ Park on Sunday. Alexander Isak’s first-half header gave Eddie Howe’s men the lead but Hwang Hee-Chan leveled for the visitors after 70 minutes. Substitute Miguel Almiron scored what proved to be the winner just 9 minutes later to ensure Newcastle took all three points and overtook Liverpool in the table.

Prediction

Nottingham Forest is a tougher team to beat at home than on their travels, so Newcastle may not have things all their own way here. Eddie Howe’s men know that wins are required to ensure their season doesn’t fizzle out after a fine start to the campaign. It will be a close encounter here but I think Newcastle can sneak a win by the odd goal.
