We’ve arrived at the end of the regular season, and the top eight is secured after the Panthers dominated the Cowboys on Saturday night.

Ivan Cleary’s side have clinched the minor premiership, with the Broncos in second, Storm in third and the Warriors finishing fourth after a loss to the Dolphins.

The Knights, Sharks, Raiders and Roosters are also assured of a top eight spot with the Cowboys bowing out.

Newcastle confirmed their 5th placed finish with a win over the Dragons, with the remaining three placings still to be decided.

1st: Penrith Panthers (42 pts, +333) – defeated Cowboys 44-12

2nd: Brisbane Broncos (42 pts, +214) – lost to Storm 22-32

3rd: Melbourne Storm (38 pts, +168) – defeated Broncos 32-22

4th: New Zealand Warriors (38 pts, +124) – lost to Dolphins 34-10

5th: Newcastle Knights (35 pts, +175) – defeated Dragons 32-12

How Round 27 has played out/will play out

Thursday night: The Storm continued their remarkable win streak over the Broncos, extending it to 14 straight with a ten-point victory at Suncorp Stadium. The win handed the Panthers a chance to clinch the minor premiership.

Friday night: The Tigers and Sea Eagles game finished a 54-12 flogging. Later, the Rabbitohs went down tothe Roosters, and with the Cowboys losing, Trent Robinson’s side have secured an unlikely finals berth.

Saturday afternoon:The Warriors finished in fourth after a loss to the Warriors.

Saturday twilight: The Panthers put the Cowboys to the sword and in the process dumped them out of finals contention. The win secured a top eight finish for both the Roosters and Raiders, with their final placing yet to be confirmed.

Saturday night:The Knights are guaranteed of a home final in week one and will finish in 5th after smashing the Dragons 32-12.

Sunday afternoon: Titans and Bulldogs will be keen to finish their disappointing seasons on a high. The following game should be a ripper. The Sharks and Raiders are both guaranteed a finals spot, but they will face off to see who finishes with a home final.
