Igor Shesterkin has had a good year but recently has fallen into a slump. If it was not for his 21 one save victory against Boston, Shesterkin would have a much higher goals against average. Prior to the game against Boston, in Shesterkin's last three starts, he averaged a goals agasint average of 5.00. On the season Igor has a record of 11-7-0 with a save percentage of .904 and a goals against average of 2.91.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are hosting the Rangers after a dominating victory against the Penguins on Saturday with a final score of 7-0. This game is a prime example of Toronto's strength on offense as of late. On the season Toronto has a goals per game average of 3.64, that places them second in the league. In their last five games however, the Maple Leafs have a goals per game average of 5.20. Where Toronto has been struggling is their defense that ranks 15th in the league. While that is not terrible they are still allowing 3.18 goals per game.Toronto's issue in on their goals allowed per game is not only on the defense but also the goaltending. Ilya Samsonov has not been playing well this season in net with a record of 5-1-5, you would think he is playing pretty good. Samsonov however has a goals against average of 3.51 and a save percentage of .878. Much of his victories with him in net have involved his offense outscoring his mistakes in net.

This game screams over to me. We have two strong offenses facing off against each other and I have a feeling the Rangers are going to try and score more than they did in their previous match. Toronto played New York a week ago with the total going well over 6.5. In that matchup the Rangers only scored three goals, I see them scoring more in this one to get revenge. I do also see Toronto staying in this game as they have averaged 5 goals per game in their last three.
I am siding with the over at 6.5.
