Oaks Day 2021: Race schedule, results, how to watch, prizemoney, final field, betting odds

The Melbourne Spring Racing carnival continues with Oaks Day 2021. It will take place on the Thursday after the Melbourne Cup. There will be one Group 1 race and two Group 3 races.

This year's Kennedy Oaks Day meet will take place on Thursday, November 4. It is traditionally held on the Thursday after the main event Melbourne Cup race. Oaks day was first held 160 years ago in 1861. The record crowd attendance was 110,677 in 2004.

Oaks Day is held at Flemington Racecourse, which is 6 km northwest of Melbourne's CBD. Flemmons opened in 1840 and features a six furlong or 1200m straight, known as 'the Straight Six'. Its home straight is 450m long and races are run anti-clockwise.

The main race of the day - the $1 million Kennedy Oaks - will start at 5.10 pm (AEDT).

10 Network will broadcast all major races across the Melbourne Cup carnival, including Oaks Day. Channel 7 will still broadcast the Victorian race meets during 2020 and 2021.

The winner of the race will receive a purse of $1 million. The Kennedy Oaks will be run over 2500m.
