Odds News: Guardians, Mets, Blue Jays, and Cardinals all Favorites

The new Major League Baseball postseason structure has been introduced. The old wild card play-in game has also been replaced by a best-of-three Wild Card Series. Guardians, Mets, Blue Jays, and Cardinals are the favorites.

Los Angeles Dodgers are the No. 1 seed in NL, Houston Astros are No 1 in AL, Atlanta Braves are 2nd seed, New York Yankees are 3rd seed. Cleveland Guardians are AL Central, St. Louis Cardinals are NL Central and Toronto Blue Jays are Wild Card. New Zealand Mets are 4th seed and Seattle Mariners are 5th.

The New York Mets are the biggest favorite at -195 over the San Diego Padres. The Toronto Blue Jays are second at +175 over Seattle Mariners. St. Louis Cardinals are a slight favorite over Philadelphia Phillies at -125. Cleveland Guardians are near favorite against the Tampa Bay Rays at even odds.

The New York Mets won 101 games last season but lost the division in the final two weeks. The San Diego Padres are +175 to beat the Mets. Yu Darvish won the September Pitcher of the Month Award.

St. Louis Cardinals are a slight favorite over the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League wild-card round. Cardinals won the Central Division and finished with a record of 93-68. The Cardinals have had more time to set their pitching rotation than the Phillies. All games will be played in St.Louis.
