Ohio State vs. Georgia Pecah Bowl Analysis & Pick ATS

Ohio State lost to Michigan in the Big Game for the second year in a row. The Buckeyes didn't play much of a schedule in 2022. Ohio State's next-best win was Maryland. Georgia is playing in its first College Football Playoff semifinal. If the Bulldogs are on their game, they can easily beat Ohio. Georgia's only close game in CFP semifinals has been against Oklahoma in 2018. In other cases, SEC teams have won their semifinals by less than 10 points.

The sharps are betting on Ohio State. The line has dropped from the critical number of -7 to -6.5. 68% of tickets have come in on Georgia.

Ohio State is without Avery Henry, TreVeyon Henderson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Lloyd McFarquhar, Evan Pryor, Mitchell Melton, Ladd McConkey, Nolan Smith, Dan Jackson, C.J. Washington, Drew Bobo, Andrew Paul and Arik Gilbert are out. Georgia is also without Ariks Gilbert, Earnest Greene III, and is questionable.

The big question for Ohio State is who carries the football against Georgia's top-ranked run defense. The Buckeyes have used three backs against Michigan and Maryland. They will have to follow a similar plan this time. Georgia has been susceptible to a good passing attack. The Bulldogs did shut down Tennessee’s pass attack, but they have been more susceptible than they are to good ground game.

Georgia beat LSU 35-10 in the Pecah Bowl. Stetson Bennett and Kenny McIntosh should be able to move the ball well for Georgia. Ohio State has played well on defense this season, but the offenses they faced were weak. Ohio played in Big Ten East and faced Rutgers, Indiana and Michigan State.

Ohio State lost money in the final third of the season. The Buckeyes went 1-4 ATS to close the year. They've gone over in nine of their past ten games. Georgia has gone 3-2 ATC in its past five games, and the three covers were against good teams.
