Michigan and TCU will play each other in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl. Michigan is making its second straight appearance in CFP. Last season, Michigan took on Georgia in semifinals. This year, the team will take on first-time playoff team TCU. TCU is 12-1 this season and won the Big 12 Championship. The team's quarterback is Max Duggan, one of the four Heisman finalists. The game is scheduled for New Year's Eve. It's a double-elimination game. There are bets on the line between Michigan and Texas. Texas is a better team than TCU, but the odds favor Michigan.

TCU and Michigan have never faced each other. TCU has a long history of games against Big Ten teams, dating back to 1937. Michigan has faced Big 12 teams just six times, losing the last three of those in Bowl games in the 2013, 2005, and 2004 seasons.
