Olympiacos vs Cukaricki
UEFA Europa League Qualification
Date: 24 August 2023, Thursday
Kick-off at 18:00 UK / 19:00 CET
Venue: Stadio Georgios Karaiskaki (Piraeus).

Olympiacos Piraeus managed to survive a tough Genk test in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.

The Greeks limited the Belgian outfit to just one goal in two matches and they now have an easier rival on paper in the battle for the UEFA Europa League group phase.

The team led by Spanish manager Diego Martinez will be big favorites to dispatch Serbian Superliga side Cukaricki both on the evening and over two legs.

The first match is scheduled for Thursday evening at Stadio Georgios Karaiskaki where the Piraeus outfit saw off Panserraikos 2-0 on the opening day of the new Greek Super League season on Sunday.

Cukaricki are making their debut in the playoffs of any European competition. They’ve earned the right to reach this phase by finishing the previous term of Serbian Super Liga at the third place in the standings.

The visitors will, however, enter this tie in the lowest of spirits after suffering a tough 3-0 defeat to the likes of IMT Novi Beograd last Friday.

Cukaricki’s coach Igor Matic can be worried regarding his team’s defensive displays in recent weeks because the team allowed five goals in the last two Superliga affairs despite facing the likes of Javor and IMT Novi Beograd along the way.

Olympiacos vs Cukaricki Head-to-head

  • Olympiacos and Cukaricki have not had a chance to meet each other in the past.

Olympiacos vs Cukaricki Prediction

The difference in quality between these two sides is significant. The Serbian teams have generally struggled to perform in Europe this year with Vojvodina, TSC, and Partizan Belgrade losing five of six outings this summer.

Cukaricki’s defense has been terrible in recent outings and we have to other option but to back Olympiacos to win in -1.5 Asian Handicap at the odds of 2.20. Alternatively, the home win to nil is well worth backing at the 2.00 odds as well knowing how strong the Greeks have been defensively at the start of the season.

  • Olympiacos to win in -1.5 Asian Handicap @ 2.20 (6/5)
  • Olympiacos to win to nil @ 2.00 (1/1) odd.
