On the Line: What do we make of this Alabama-Texas game?

No. 1 Alabama plays Texas in a big game on Saturday. Fox picked this one in the offseason to kick off its Big Noon Saturday schedule. Three networks will hold live, on-site pre-game shows.

Alabama is the No. 1 team in the country and Texas is unranked. The last time they met, Texas won the game, but the team has since lost its national championship hopes. Texas has a freshman quarterback, a first-year left tackle and a defense that ranked 102nd last season. The Boston Red Sox won a World Series after coming from a 3-0 deficit in 2004.

Alabama lost to an unranked non-conference opponent in 2007. The last time Alabama lost against an opponent ranked higher than No. 1 was in November 2007 against ULM. Saturday marks the third time the AP No 1 team has visited Austin.

Louisville is a road favorite at UCF. South Carolina plays at No. 16 Arkansas. Missouri plays Kansas State. North Carolina goes on the road to Georgia State for the second straight week. Wake Forest plays Vanderbilt. Marshall plays Notre Dame. App State plays Texas A&M. Tennessee plays Pittsburgh. Washington State visits Wisconsin. The Johnny Majors Classic is one of the best games of this weekend. It's a ranked v. ranked game. The last Pac-12 team to visit Camp Randall was Oregon State on Sept. 10, 2011. Wisconsin hasn't visited a Big Ten stadium since Sept., 2007.

No. 20 Kentucky plays No. 12 Florida. No 10 USC plays Stanford. Hawaii plays Michigan. New Mexico State plays UTEP. Baylor plays BYU. Mississippi State faces Arizona.  Alabama and Texas are playing each other. The game is on the line. It's the #Pac12AfterDark window.
