Pa. teams got left out of the minor league baseball union. Here's why.

Minor league baseball players unionized over the summer. They are negotiating their first-ever collective bargaining agreement with Major League Baseball. The sport remains far from unionised overall. Professional players on teams unaffiliated with MLB will not be represented at the bargaining table. They will probably not see improvements in their working conditions. Some insiders say their conditions can be even worse than those at MLB-affiliated teams. MLB has a legal monopoly over baseball. It is not allowed to pay minimum wage or overtime at minor league level.
