Padres vs Mets Game 3 Odds, Lines & Picks

The New York Mets won Game 2 on Saturday night to force a Game 3 against the San Diego Padres at Citi Field on Sunday at 7:07 PM ET. Joe Musgrove will start for the Padres against Chris Bassitt.

Musgrove was outstanding in 2022, going 10-7 with a 2.93 ERA in 30 starts. He has given up just one run in his last four appearances. Musgroves has pitched back-to-back shutouts.

Bassitt made 30 starts for the Mets this season, pitching to a 3.42 ERA and 15-9 record. He also struck out 167 in 181.2 innings. Bassitt had a rough outing against the Atlanta Braves, giving up four earned in 2. 2 innings and nine in 10 innings against San Diego.

Jacob deGrom beat San Diego in Game 2. Blake Snell had control issues and his bullpen didn't fare well. The pressure is on Musgrove's shoulders in the Game 3.

The Mets won the Game 2 of the series against the Padres. Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso hit the home runs in the first and fifth innings. Jeff McNeil doubled and the Mets put up four runs. Jacob deGrom gave up two runs on five hits and struck out eight. Edwin Diaz came in in seventh and dominated. Adam Ottavino and Seth Lugo finished the game.

Neither pitcher does well in this game. Bassitt will keep his team in the game enough to pull out a win. The bats woke up for the Mets on Saturday and they'll keep it rolling.
