Paul Nicholls hits back at Gordon Elliott 'duck and dive' claims

Gordon Elliott said British jump racing is falling behind Ireland because trainers don't take on each other regularly with their best horses. Paul Nicholls dismissed Elliott's claims. Nicholl's horses trained in Ireland have dominated British jumping in recent seasons. The last four winners of the Randox Grand National were trained there. Nichol's horse Monmiral is unlikely to take up Jonbon in the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown on Saturday. He might go to Ascot for the Noel Novices’ Chase in a couple of weeks. It's possible MonMiral will take JonBon on good ground. On softer ground it's unlikely.
