Portugal forward Joao Felix joins Chelsea on loan, but extends Atletico contract
Joao Felix has joined Chelsea on loan from Atletico Madrid. He will stay at the Premier League club until the end of the season. Felix's contract with Atleti was extended until June 2027. The forward is the fourth Chelsea signing in January. He is competing with Raheem Sterling, Christian Pulisic, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech for a place in the forward line. His contract was triggered by a 126 million euro buyout clause in his Benfica contract. At the time, Felix was considered the successor to Cristiano Ronaldo.
