Pre-Season Game 2 Recap: Edmonton Oilers at Seattle Kraken

Edmonton Oilers lost the pre-season game against Seattle Kraken 3-0. The game was played without NHL veterans. It was interesting to watch the prospects play. The team that will be called the Edmonton Oilers on October 12th will play the game. They will probably choose the pairing of Tyson Barrie and Philip Broberg. Seattle had more NHL players on the ice than Edmonton. Edmonton played well. Their game last night against Winnipeg was sloppy. This time the team played with more prospects. However, they were able to win the match.

Matty Beniers opened the scoring for the Kraken. Ryan Donato extended the lead (2-0) and Morgan Geekie made it 3-1. Philip Broberg played well on the back end with Tyson Barrie. Markus Niemalainen played pretty well. Olivier Rodrigue made eight saves on nine shots and a .889 save%. Ryan Fanti came in to finish the game. The Oilers went a perfect 6-for-6 on penalty kill. They missed all four of their power play chances. Reid Schaefer is staying in Seattle. He played for Thunderbirds. He will play in the WHL next season.

Oilers went a perfect 6-for-6 on the PK, but struck out on all four of their power play chances. Oilers picked up college UFA Ryan Fendi in March. He played well. Markus Niemalainen played pretty well for him.

Edmonton Oilers are going to Calgary to take on the Flames on Wednesday at 7:00 PM. They are also going on a trip to Las Vegas from January 12th to January 15th. The trip costs $1499 per person. The tickets are available for the pre-season game against Seattle Kraken.
