Liverpool vs Chelsea: Chelsea under 1.5 goals (2/5)

It is fair to say neither Liverpool nor Chelsea would have expected to be mid-table going into this January clash at Anfield.

Both teams began the campaign hoping to mount a challenge for the Premier League title, but such ambitions have long since evaporated.

Even a top-four finish looks increasingly unlikely and the loser of this match will almost certainly be out of the race to qualify for the Champions League.

Liverpool were humbled by Brighton & Hove Albion in a 3-0 defeat last weekend, but they bounced back by beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 in the FA Cup on Tuesday.

Chelsea eked out a victory over Crystal Palace by the same scoreline in their most recent encounter, but this will be a much tougher test.

The Blues are averaging 0.9 goals per away game this season and they will struggle to impose themselves at Anfield.

Back Chelsea to score under 1.5 goals at 2/5 with bet365.

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle United: Under 2.5 goals (8/11)

Crystal Palace left it late to rescue a point against Manchester United in midweek, but Michael Olise’s stunning free-kick was worth the wait.

It was an important goal for Patrick Vieira’s side, who stopped the rot and prevented a third consecutive home defeat without scoring.

There are still issues for Palace to resolve, though, not least a lack of creativity in open play.

Only Bournemouth rank lower in the expected goals table, while Palace are the Premier League team with the highest percentage of goals from set-pieces.

Newcastle have also had a few difficulties going forward of late, with just one goal in their last 328 minutes of top-flight action.

Eddie Howe’s side are increasingly reliant on a rock-solid defence which has conceded fewer goals than any other in the division.

Get under 2.5 goals at 8/11 with bet365.

Arsenal vs Manchester United: Arsenal to win (4/5)

A failure to beat Crystal Palace halted Manchester United’s momentum after a run of nine successive victories in all competitions.

Erik ten Hag’s team were unable to kill the game off on Wednesday, allowing Palace to come on strong in the closing stages.

Yet United have still made significant progress in recent months and a win here would move them to within five points of top spot.

However, they will have to make do without Casemiro – arguably their player of the season so far – after he picked up his fifth yellow card of the campaign at Selhurst Park.

Arsenal have a phenomenal record in front of their own fans, having collected 22 points from a possible 24 at the Emirates this term.

They have had a full week to prepare for this match and will be full of confidence after defeating Tottenham Hotspur last time out.

Choose Arsenal to beat Manchester United at 4/5 with bet365.

Bournemouth vs Nottingham Forest: Bournemouth no clean sheet (4/11)

Two promoted teams meet at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, with Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest’s form trending in opposite directions.

The Cherries reached the dizzying heights of 10th in the middle of October, before losing eight of their next nine matches.

The latest defeat was a 2-0 reverse to Brentford that left Gary O’Neil’s side outside the bottom three by a single point.

The mood at the City Ground is considerably brighter amid a fine run of form which has seen Forest climb up to 13th.

Steve Cooper’s side have opened up a five-point gap to the relegation zone after losing only one of their last six matches.

Forest have scored in each of those games, while Bournemouth have shipped more than two goals per match on average this term.

Tip Bournemouth to not keep a clean sheet at 4/11 with bet365.

West Ham United vs Everton: West Ham win either half (4/9)

Expect plenty of nerves at the London Stadium on Saturday, as two out-of-form relegation candidates go head-to-head.

West Ham have taken just one point from the last 21 available and David Moyes – despite his fine work in previous seasons – might not survive another defeat.

As for Everton, they have lost five and drawn two of their last seven Premier League outings, with the fans in mutinous mood after a 2-1 home loss to Southampton last time out.

Both clubs are in a precarious position but there is probably more danger of Everton going down than West Ham.

The Hammers have plenty of quality in their squad and are clearly underachieving. It is instructive that bet365 have them down as only their eighth-favourites for the drop.

Everton look much more vulnerable and they cannot take much solace from an away record which has brought just one win in nine games.

Back West Ham to win either half at 4/9 with bet365.
