Premier League flop remains Costa Rica captain 146 caps and 17 years after debut

Costa Rica will play Spain first in their World Cup group. They will then play Germany and Japan. Costa Rica won the group in 2014 with Bryan Ruiz as captain. Ruiza made his international debut in 2005. He has 146 caps and is still the most capped player in the history of Costa Rican football. Celso Borges is third with 155 caps.  They play against Spain, Japan and Germany in Group G. The group also includes England, Italy and Uruguay. In 2014 Costa Costa won their group and reached the quarter-finals.
