Premier League: Manchester City vs. Liverpool odds, picks, prediction

The biggest match of the Premier League season takes place this Sunday. Liverpool play hosts to Manchester City on Sunday morning (11:30 a.m. ET) with the title race hanging in the balance. The Reds are currently one point ahead of the Cityzens (and Arsenal) with 11 matches to play.

The betting market has made City a +125 road favorite on the three-way moneyline at the time of writing.

Both City and Liverpool come into this match in raucous form.

The Reds have lost just four matches across all competitions (and just two in the league) all season and haven’t been defeated at home by a Premier League side since Oct. 29, 2022. Liverpool ranks second in the Premier League in goals for and goals against, and they’re third in expected goal difference. No team has created more xG than the Reds in the Premier League this campaign.

Every year it seems that City does this song and dance. Pep Guardiola’s side looked a little off the pace through the first four months of the campaign, but they snapped into form around the holidays and haven’t looked back since. The Cityzens are unbeaten in their last 18 matches (16W, 2D) in all competitions and are 10-2-0 (W-D-L) in the league with a +16 goal difference and +16 xG difference in that span.

City’s impeccable run of form coincides with Kevin de Bruyne getting back into the lineup. De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Erling Haaland have been nearly unstoppable of late and should ask questions of a Liverpool squad that will still be a bit plug-and-play due to injuries.

It’s obvious to say, but these odds would look a lot different if Liverpool was a little healthier. But given their depth situation and City’s rip-roaring form, you have to say that the Cityzens are a deserving favorite, even at Anfield.

I wouldn’t go much further than +120, but City look like the value side in this tilt.

  1. The Bet: Manchester City (+120 or better)
