Premier League weekend preview: City must halt red-hot rivals to close the gap on Arsenal

The Premier League season is halfway through. There are local derbies and relegation scraps on offer this weekend.

Manchester United are four points behind Manchester City in the Premier League table. United have won all of their last six games at Old Trafford. Manchester United recorded their sixth successive victory in all competitions with a 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic in League Cup on Tuesday. Marcus Rashford took his tally to 15 for the season with two goals against Charlston. Erling Haaland is the favourite to score at any time. Manchester City are 4/7 favourites to win the title for a third successive year.

Brighton beat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park last Tuesday. Liverpool lost to Brentford and drew with Wolves in the FA Cup. Virgil van Dijk is injured for the next few games for Liverpool. Cody Gakpo is expected to start for Brighton. Evan Ferguson is the favourite to score for hosts. Liverpool are 13/8 favourites to win the game. Brighton are 5/2 to beat Liverpool at the Amex Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park. Spurs are in fourth place, while Arsenal are top of the table. Arsenal drew with Newcastle last Tuesday. They are 23/20 favourites to beat their north London rivals. Tottenham are 9/4 favourites. Arsenal to win and both teams to score at 3/1 looks generously priced.
