Presidents Cup Canadian picks: Pendrith and Conners must step up for Internationals

The Presidents Cup starts this Thursday at Quail Hollow Club. Pendrith and Conners make their debuts for the International squad.

The United States is a hefty -715 favourite to win the tournament. They will have to beat a team featuring eight rookies, including Corey Conners and Taylor Pendrith.

Pendrith is one of the top players on the PGA Tour since his return from injury. He is going to play in the Presidents Cup for Canada. Pendrath is a good bet to be the International wildcard points scorer. He will play with Corey Conners. The Internationals are going through an uphill battle. They are playing at Quail Hollow. It is the most difficult course on which golfers like Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas have had success.

Conners is expected to be one of the top three international points scorers. He ranked fifth in SG: OTT last season and hit the second-most greens in regulation of any player (71.90%). He also won the WGC-Dell Match Play last year.
