Punters pull off $101 into $2.90 betting plunge at Globe Derby harness

Punters took a plunge at Globe Derby on Monday when Giftedfromtheheart won race five. The Phillip Westbury-trained gelding opened at $101 with TAB but firmed all the way into $2.90. Giftfrom theheart had only one of his 18 starts coming in at odds of $71. He had placed in 10 races before Monday's event. His most recent assignment on May 3 was beaten 38.7m as a $94 chance. Driver Scott Forby was fined $100 for using his whip with more than a wrist-only flicking motion.
