Quadruple no longer a dream for Liverpool
Liverpool are on course to complete the quadruple this season. They are already League Cup winners and are through to the final of the FA Cup. The team is also favourites to reach the Champions League final after a 2-0 victory over Villarreal in the semi-finals first leg. Liverpool are second in Premier League behind Manchester City with five games remaining. Celtic achieved the feat in 1966-67 season, winning all three domestic trophies and the European Cup final.
If Manchester City win their remaining five games, they will retain the Premier League title. Liverpool play before City in their next three rounds of games. Their next match is away to Newcastle on Saturday.
Liverpool will play Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on May 14. Chelsea are third in Premier League and out of the Champions League.
Liverpool are chasing a third Champions League title in five years. If they beat Villarreal in the second leg on Tuesday, they will play either Madrid or City in Paris on May 28.
