RACE 6

FIRST LEG

Looks an open edition of the Standish. HALVORSEN (2) is shooting for his third win in the race, comes here off two good runs and has a good third-up record. WESTERN EMPIRE (1) the obvious class runner of the field as a dominant Group 1 Railway Stakes winner. 1200m is short of his best but look for him to be running on. VERSPETINE (4) is first-up since winning at this track and trip, beating Galaxy winner Shelby Sixtysix. INDIAN PACIFIC (3) once ran second in a Newmarket and racing well without winning.

LEG 1: 1,2,3,4

RACE 7

SECOND LEG

HERE TO SHOCK (3) was an eye catcher first-up when running second to the in form Savannah Cloud. Will improve with the run and out to a mile. POUNDING (1) broke through for a win last start off the back of a nice second to Detonator Jack. In the mix again. CHASSIS (2) looks value but it’s hard to see anything beating the top two.

LEG 2: 1,3

THIRD LEG

RACE 8

Moroney galloper JUNGLE JIM (3) beat the handy Sigh last start and the pair gapped the rest. Suited stepping up to 1200m where he’s won three of five. NIKAU SPUR (5) yet to race since coming back from Sydney when unsuited on the wet tracks and has never missed a top three finish first-up. WILLIAM THOMAS (1) is consistent and hasn’t been far off in much tougher races this season including a third to Uncommon James. 3kg claim helps. DJUMBUCK (9) next best.

LEG 3: 1,3,5

LAST LEG

RACE 9

Going wide inthe last leg as it looks to be the toughest race on the card. SANDY PRINCE (3) is over the odds, he was good behind Jungle Jim last start but much more suited out to 1400m. Silly odds. BRITISH COLUMBIA (10) racing in good form and has to be in the mix again. Waller’s horse SAN FABRIZIO (12) no luck last start and gets Jye McNeil on board. AZALY (5) and BLESK (6) capable of causing an upset at big odds.

LEG 4: 3,5,6,10,12

ROSEHILL

Race 7

$50 win on Spacewalk (8) at $2.30

First-up after last seen beating Buenos Noches at Flemington before losing the race on protest. Looked slick in latest trial and well in with just 53kg.

FLEMINGTON

Race 8

$50 win on Jungle Jim (3) at $4.40

He’s a classy horse as he displayed when beating Sigh last start. Suited by the step up in trip and think they will find him hard to beat.

FLEMINGTON

Race 5

$25 each-way on Robodira (1) at $23

Former John O’Shea-trained mare that was good at her first run for the stable. Now heads to town and it’s not like she doesn’t have the class to handle it having nearly won a Group 2 Furious Stakes. Overs.

GOLD COAST

Race 8

$50 win on Russian Conquest (14) at $5

Went close to winning last year’s 2YO Classic but can get redemption on Saturday. Superb run first-up when rattling home for second in the Gosford Guineas and she’s going to have good improvement here.
