Queen’s Plate host to make decision on name in coming days after death of the Queen

Woodbine Entertainment is the host of the Queen's Plate, Canada's largest and oldest horse race. The name of this trophy traditionally reflects the gender of Canada’s reigning monarch. It was called the King's plate between 1901 and 1952. A decision will be made in the coming days on whether the trophy's name will return to the name it was before. Jim Lawson, the organization's CEO, said Woodbines Entertainment mourns the loss of Queen Elizabeth with "great sadness and respect".
