Racing: Heat win dispels Herlihy's doubts
Tony Herlihy's trotter Bolt For Brilliance won his first-round trotsing heat at Ballarat on Saturday. He almost didn't make it to Victoria after a lung infection after the Cup day failure at Addington on November 8. The series moves to Shepparton on Tuesday night and Bolt for Brilliant is $1.70 favourite to win the series. Both the pacing and troting finals are at Melton on December 10.
Waitak won the Eagle Memorial at Te Rapa on Saturday. Wexford Stables has won several trophies with their three-year-olds this summer. Waitak will be aimed at the Auckland Guineas before the stable lets him step up in distance. A new haka has the Black Sox squad taking the challenge to all contenders.
