Rams vs. Seahawks: Final score prediction, odds and best bet

The games get real starting today when the Los Angeles Rams visit the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field, the season opener for both teams as the 2023 campaign gets underway. The Rams are the underdogs against their division rivals, coming into the game after getting swept by the Seahawks last season.

Los Angeles looks very different now than it did a season ago, parting with players such as Jalen Ramsey, Leonard Floyd and Bobby Wagner. It’s hard to say they’re better now than they were at this time last year but the slate is clean and both teams are 0-0 so it’s a new opportunity.

If you’re looking to bet on Sundays matchup, we’ve got you covered with the latest odds from BetMGM.

Final score prediction and best bet

This is not a very favorable matchup for the Rams. The Seahawks have a great running game, which is going to test the Rams’ new front seven. And at wide receiver, the trio of DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba is going to be a handful for the Rams’ young and unproven secondary.

Los Angeles’ pass rush could struggle to generate pressure against Geno Smith, too, which will give the quarterback plenty of time in the pocket – and when he’s protected, he’s very accurate.

Oh, and Cooper Kupp is going to miss this game with a hamstring injury, just to make matters even worse for the Rams. I think Seattle is going to come away with a victory at home in this game, and potentially by a comfortable margin.

But with Kupp out and the game script skewing towards a more pass-heavy attack by the Rams, I expect Van Jefferson to get plenty of opportunities on the outside and he should be able to create a big play or two down the field.

Best bet: Van Jefferson longest reception over 20.5 yards (-110)

Prediction: Seahawks 30, Rams 20
