Rangers vs Motherwell preview

Rangers are back at home after Thursday night's big opening game win in the Europa League.

Gers' 1-0 win over Betis was a big one in the context of Michael Beale's season, making it back-to-back wins for the manager this week.

They might well have ridden their luck at times as the Spaniards pushed for an equaliser but Rangers won't care one bit.

The downside from the result was the injury that forced Tom Lawrence off and it remains to be seen how bad that is.

For Motherwell, they're looking to bounce back from their first league defeat of the season last weekend.

That was only the second time they've lost in all competitions this term - and BOTH were at the hands of St Mirren.

Stuart Kettlewell rued last week's opportunity and insisted it was one of the best performances under him, despite the loss.

Rangers have won five of the last six meetings between the two - scoring 20 goals in that time.

The sides last shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw in February 2022 at Ibrox, which was also a 3pm kick off on a Sunday.
