Raptors vs. Knicks NBA expert prediction and odds for Monday, Dec. 11

The Toronto Raptors are on the road on Monday to take on the New York Knicks, who struggled in their finish to the In-Season Tournament, posting two straight bad defensive games against Boston and Milwaukee.

Now, the Raptors are eyeing their 10th win of the season as road dogs on Monday night.

New York is down Mitchell Robinson – its starting center – due to an ankle injury, which could help the Raptors in a big way on the glass tonight.

Here’s a breakdown of the latest odds and my best bet for Raptors vs. Knicks:

Knicks injury report

Toronto Raptors

Pascal Siakam: Siakam has given the Knicks trouble in recent seasons, scoring 21 points in their first meeting this season and posting a 52-point game against the Knicks last season. With Robinson out, Siakam could have a field day inside on Monday.

New York Knicks

Julius Randle: With Jalen Brunson (ankle) questionable, Randle could be called upon for a much bigger role playmaking and scoring for the Knicks. While Brunson will likely play, the team may need to lean on the All-NBA forward to handle more in the offense – and on defense with Robinson sidelined.

The Knicks won the first meeting between these teams by 13 points, but I am concerned with the New York defense as of late.

The team allowed over 140 points to the Bucks and then over 130 to the Celtics, a sign that it is regressing from a strong defensive start to the season.

This is a good sign for the Raptors, who enter this game with the No. 24 offensive rating in the NBA.

Taking away Robinson’s presence down low should give Toronto a few more easy looks at the rim, and the Knicks are just 4-4 against the spread as home favorites this season.

The Raptors are worth a look, as these two teams usually play each other fairly tight.
