Betis look like home bankers

Real Betis have won seven and drawn three of their 10 games in front of their passionate home support at Estadio Benito Villamarin this season.

Los Verdiblancos are desperate to taste some of the Europa League glory that city rivals Sevilla have experienced and their fans will be out in force to cheer them to victory on Thursday night.

Manuel Pellegrini’s squad of gnarled veterans has been boosted by the earlier than expected return from injury of Portugal midfielder William Carvalho.

Betis should be able to see off the challenge of a Rangers side who have regularly struggled on overseas road trips these past few years.

They lost to Aris in Limassol, although that was before Phillipe Clement took charge, and drew 0-0 with Sparta Prague in one of the coach’s first games in the dugout.

Neither of those results or performances breeds confidence in the visitors avoiding defeat here and there should be scope for the home side to score more than once.

Betis have bagged multiple goals in five of their previous seven home games, including the Group C victories over Aris and Sparta.

Real Betis vs Rangers tip 1: Real Betis to win and over 1.5 goals @ 21/20 with CopyBet

Rangers due a reality check

Rangers have not lost a Europa League away game by more than one goal since their infamous defeat away to Progres Niederkorn of Luxembourg in the qualifying stages in July 2017.

Five of their last seven Champions League road trips have resulted in losses by two goals or more.

One of those came in qualifying in Eindhoven in August, when the gap between PSV and the Glasgow club was evident in a 5-1 thumping.

PSV’s group stage results this year suggest they could be better than Real Betis, but the Spanish club’s fine home record and recent form indicates they should be too good for Rangers on the night.

Real Betis vs Rangers tip 2: Real Betis -1 @ 27/20 with CopyBet

Wide areas could bear fruit in Seville

There were 16 corners in total when these sides met at Ibrox in September and there could be almost as many on Thursday if both teams play in a similar fashion.

Rangers won nine corners in that first group encounter en route to winning 1-0 as they took to the flanks in a bid to unlock the Betis defence.

La Liga teams have tried to do the same with Betis among the top four teams for corners against, despite sitting in seventh place in the actual table.

This looks like a game where corners could be plentiful as both teams have no reason to sit back.

Real Betis vs Rangers tip 3: Over 11.5 corners @ 85/20 with CopyBet
