Realm Of Flowers retired from racing

The Team Freedman trained Realm Of Flowers has run her final race, with Team Freedman following her fifth placing in last year’s Melbourne Cup. The daughter of So You Think had won five races and earned a total of $846,110 in prizemoney, and was G1-placed in last year’s Metropolitan.

The mare had been looking to build on her success from 2021 when she won the Andrew Ramsden, but was unfortunately hampered by injury which meant she had to put her Cup ambitions on hold.

Sam Freedman, who trains in partnership with his father Anthony, said: “She just pulled up with a little issue after the Melbourne Cup. She has been a very good mare who has probably been a little unlucky not to have won a Group 1 or two even, she was pretty stiff in a Sydney Cup we might all remember.”

Realm Of Flowers was purchased by her owners for $180,000 at the Inglis Easter sale, and they have been very patient with her during her career. Freedman added: “I am sure she is going to have a great life as a broodmare and I am sure she will throw some good horses.”
