Red Wings assign Austin Czarnik to Griffins

Austin Czarnik has played four games with the Detroit Red Wings. He has also played for the New York Islanders and Seattle Kraken. CZarnika has been assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League. The 29-year-old played college hockey at Miami University. He was a Hobey Baker Award finalist as a sophomore in 2012-13. His last professional season was with Bridgeport Islanders. In 2011-12, he played in Green Bay Gamblers.

Austin Czarnik has been assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. CZarnika played four games with Detroit, scoring one goal. He has played in seven NHL seasons with the Bruins, Calgary Flames, Islanders, Kraken and Red Wings. He also played for the New York Islanders and Seattle Kraken. The 29-year-old was named the Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Player of The Week for period ending Oct. 16. His college career included playing for Miami University.
