NHL parlay picks Oct. 26: Bet on Red Wings to beat Jets

An 11-game NHL slate Thursday gives hockey bettors plenty of parlay options.

The pregame narrative: The Boston Bruins are big favourites over the Anaheim Ducks, but the former doesn't score much, which is why Anaheim's a quality teasing option. The Ottawa Senators are puck-line underdogs against a low-scoring New York Islanders squad and we're looking to back them. Thirdly, the blazing-hot Detroit Red Wings are a quality moneyline choice against the Winnipeg Jets.

NHL parlay picks

Parlay: Ducks +3.5 + Senators +1.5 + Red Wings moneyline (+237)

Ducks +3.5 (-400): This is certainly a play on the number more than it is a vote of confidence in Anaheim.

The Ducks are an unimpressive 2-4-0 to open the season but they've covered this number in all six of their games. That includes a 3-1 loss to Boston at home this past Sunday.

This game is on the road, but we're convinced that this number is too big for the Bruins to cover. Despite entering Thursday with a sterling 6-0-0 record, they haven't covered this number yet and have scored more than three goals just once.

Anaheim is actually playing some solid hockey in its own zone to open the year, ranking 10th in goals against per game (2.83) and 11th in team save percentage (.909).

Other parlay picks

Senators +1.5 (-230): Ottawa is a middling 3-3-0 to open the campaign despite entering the season with high hopes.

This will only be the Senators' second road game but we're expecting them to be competitive, at a minimum, against New York. The Islanders have lost three consecutive games and have failed to win by two-plus goals in any of their five contests.

Offence continues to be an issue for this squad. The Isles rank 24th in goals per game (2.60) after finishing 22nd in the category (2.95) last year.

Red Wings moneyline (-115): Detroit lost in heartbreaking fashion on Tuesday but we expect a strong bounce-back effort.

The Red Wings took a 4-3 lead in the third period despite trailing 3-1 entering the frame. The Seattle Kraken struck late and wound up winning 5-4 in overtime.

We're still buying this team's hot start and expect it to translate into a win over Winnipeg. The Wings lead the NHL in goals per game (4.86) while the Jets place 29th in goals against per contest (3.83).

Detroit's offence should be able to do enough to outlast Winnipeg.
