Rockets vs Pacers Prediction

The Indiana Pacers play host to the Houston Rockets at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday night.

The Houston Rockets have been in terrible form as they’ve lost 12 of their last 14 games overall and they will be hoping for a better performance after getting blown out by the Nets in a 118-96 loss on Tuesday. Jalen Green led the team with 25 points, Alperen Sengun added 16 points with 12 rebounds while Jabari Smith Jr chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Rockets shot 43 percent from the field and seven of 26 from the 3-point line as they poured in 32 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, but it was the Nets who dominated from that point onwards to deliver the Rockets another blowout defeat. Kevin Porter Jr. had a mixed night as he scored eight points with eight rebounds and seven assists but shot just two of 11 from the field.

Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in decent form lately as they’ve won four of their last seven games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after coming up short against the 76ers in a 147-143 loss on Monday. Tyrese Haliburton led the team with 40 points and 16 assists, Jordan Nwora added 16 points, Buddy Hield scored 15 while Jalen Smith chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 58 percent from the field and 15 of 37 from the 3-point line as they went toe to toe with the 76ers until the fourth quarter where the 76ers went on a decisive 14-3 run to pull away from them.

Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 5-17 ATS in their last 22 road games, 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games against a team with a losing record and 9-23 ATS in their last 32 games overall. The Pacers are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against a team below .400 and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the under is 11-3 in the last 14 meetings overall, the Rockets are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings overall and the Rockets are 4-11 ATS in the last 15 meetings in Indiana.

The Rockets are shorthanded again as they are still without Kevin Porter Jr, while the Pacers are keeping an eye on Aaron Nesmith who is questionable for this one. The Rockets were able to spring to life with a couple of wins over the Spurs before they came crashing back down to Earth with a blowout loss to the Nets on Tuesday. The Pacers come into this one as the team in better form and they were more than competitive in their narrow loss to the 76ers. The Rockets are only 4-11 ATS in the last 15 meetings in Indiana and the Pacers also have the advantage of extra rest, so I’ll back the Pacers at home.
