Rondebosch Boys close out impressive season with derby...
Rondebosch Boys' High School beat Bishops 43-26 in a rugby derby this weekend. It sealed the double for Rondebsch this season. Rondebsh has only lost four matches all season and beat Graeme College, Paarl Boys, Paul Roos and Stellenberg. Wynberg boys' high school beat Rodebs 17-10 away. The only teams to beat them this year are Wynburg boys’ high School, Paar's Gimnasium, Grey High and Jeppe High for Boys.
Rondebosch had four players selected for Western Province’s Craven Week side. Jono Birhange, Gareth Blackmore, Jacques Jooste and Jamie Ricketts were selected. Joeste had to pull out of Cravent Week a week prior to the tournament due to injury. Carew also acknowledged that there were players on his side who were unsung heroes and were unfortunate to not receive higher honours.
Rondebosch's rugby team is one of the top ten schools in the country. Head coach Carew is not planning to rest on his laurels. He wants to build on what they achieved this year and improve next year.
