Rory Townsend happy he stuck at it as perseverance pays off

Rory Townsend won his maiden Irish National road title in Kanturk. Bryan Keane, an Olympic triathlete in Rio six years ago, captured the moment for the Inpho agency. Townsend's success was a story of perseverance and patience. He has always been teetering on the edge of success. Last year he was contemplating quitting the sport. Now he's loving the extra time he can spend on cycling. He was unable to ride for all eleven days of the holiday he took in Montenegro after the nationals. His cycling commitments shared with a sports science dissertation on sleep disruption. It was completed less than a week after KantURk and he handed it in less that a day after.
