Ross Smith sensationally wins first TV title at Cazoo European Championship

Ross Smith won his first TV title at the Cazoo European Championship in Dortmund on Sunday. He beat Michael Smith 11-8 in the final. He had seen off Masters champion Joe Cullen in first round and Dimitri Van den Bergh in quarter-finals. The Kent ace won the £120,000 top prize.

Ross Smith won his first TV title at Cazoo European Championship. US Darts Masters champion Michael Smith lost to Ross Smith for the sixth time in a TV ranking final in 12 months. The win earns Ross the £120,000 prize money and he moves up to a career-high 20th on the PDC Order of Merit. He also qualifies for next month's Cazaoo Grand Slam of Dars in Wolverhampton. Dirk van Duijvenbode was denied his spot in the final by Michael. He was also denied in semi-finals by Chris Dobey.
