Royal Ascot 2018: day two odds and tips

Frankie Dettori has won three races on the opening day of Royal Ascot. He is riding the hottest favourite of the week in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes. Accidental Agent, Calyx and Lagostovegas won the first two races. LagOSTovega came to the rescue in penultimate race. The bookmakers are ahead of them. There was no antisocial behaviour or public drunkenness.

Wesley Ward has won the Queen Mary Stakes on three occasions since 2009. Aiden O'Brien has dominated the Queens Vase lately, taking four out of five titles. 66 per cent of the last 21 Prince Of Wales's Stake winners have won their last race. Market principals fare well in the Wednesday feature.

Royal Ascot 2018 is taking place on Wednesday.

Chelsea Cloisters (5/2) is the obvious pick in the Queen Mary Stakes. Shades Of Blue (4/1) and Daphinia (33/ 1) are also strong bets.

Aiden O'Brien has three horses in the Queen's Vase. Kew Gardens is the favourite. Almoghared is 16/1.

Hydrangea (6/4) is the one to beat on form. Unforgettable Filly (28/1) can run well on her favoured firm ground. Promising Run (18/2) could also make the each way shortlist.

Cracksman is the most hyped-up horse of the week. Eminent was disappointing on his seasonal reappearance at Chester. If fully tuned up today, E eminent will get closest to the favourite in second place.

5pm Royal Hunt Cup is the first of the week's massive field handicaps. Escobar (16/1) and Hors De Combat (40/ 1) represent our tentative selections. Seniority (9/2) should also be watched having won his last two races.

5.35pm Jersey Stakes. Expert Eye (10/1) is the selection in the hope that he lives up to the promise shown early on in his career. Brother Bear (25/ 1) ran very well at this meeting last year and comes over from Ireland with a solid each way chance.
