Royal Ascot Day 1 Tips and Best Bets

Royal Ascot is here and there is no better place to get involved in all the action than Ladbrokes!

The Queen Anne Stakes, King’s Stand Stakes and the St James’s Palace Stakes headline the excitement tonight and there is plenty of value to be found.

Our Royal Ascot Day 1 best bets are now available!

Ascot – Race 1 11:30pm AEST

No. 6 Palace Pier – Bet Now

Palace Pier is deserving of his status as a dominant favourite in the Queen Anne Stakes and will prove very tough to beat.

He has now recorded seven wins from his eight race starts and he claimed a third win at Group 1 level in the Lockinge Stakes.

Frankie Dettori is the Royal Ascot master and it would be a shock if the meeting started with anything other than a Palace Pier victory.

Royal Ascot – Race 3 12:40am AEST

No. 2 Baattaash – Bet Now

Battassh is chasing a second straight win in the King’s Stand Stakes and he is a deserving favourite to do exactly that.

He wasn’t beaten in any of his three race starts in 2020 and his win in the King’s Stand Stakes was nothing short of dominant.

This year’s edition of the race really isn’t any tougher and I am surprised that he is not a dominant odds-on favourite.

Royal Ascot – Race 4 1:20am AEST

No. 9 Naamoos – Bet Now

This is the most open edition of the St James’s Palace Stakes in recent memory and it would not surprise if we saw an enormous upset.

This is a huge step-up in quality for Naamoos, but he showed his talent with a dominant six lengths win at Sandown Park last start.

You can’t knock the upside of the horse and he has an excellent chance to produce a better performance than his current odds suggest.

Royal Ascot – Race 6 2:35am AEST

No. 4 Solid Stone – Bet Now

Recent winners of the Wolferton Handicap include Gatewood, Contributor, Sir Isaac Newton and Addeybb and it would not surprise to see this year’s winner end up in Australia for the Spring Racing Carnival.

Solid Stone has always had plenty of ability and he heads into the Wolferton Handicap on the back of a dominant win in the Royal Windsor Stakes.

The form coming out of that race has been vert strong and a repeat of that effort would make him very tough to beat in this contest.
