Ruby Walsh Cheltenham Festival Tips: 3 Horses He'd Love To Ride

Ex-jockey Ruby Walsh has revealed three 2023 Cheltenham Festival tips that he’d like to come out of retirement to ride.

Ruby Walsh Picks Out Three Horses He’d Want to Ride at Cheltenham

With 59 Cheltenham Festival winners, no rider has steered home more horses to victory than Ruby Walsh. He retired from the saddle back in 2019, but still has strong links to the Willie Mullins yard.

So, when Ruby Walsh was asked recently which three horses he’d love to ride at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival – punters surely have to take notice.

MIGHTY POTTER (Turners Novices’ Chase, Thurs ) @ 5/4 with BetUK
From the Gordon Elliott camp but Ruby has been impressed with this horse since he’s gone chasing. The 6 year-old has won all three starts over the bigger obstacles and put in his best performance yet when winning the Ladbrokes Novice Chase last time. Will be many people’s (and Ruby’s) idea of the day three Cheltenham Festival banker.

IMPAIRE ET PASSE (Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, Tues) @ 6/1 with BetUK
With the Willie Mullins yard having Facile Vega in here too, it’s interesting that Ruby Walsh is opting for Impaire Et Passe. Another from the powerful Mullins camp and will head to the Festival unbeaten from his three starts. The latest was a smooth success in the Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle in January so has also been kept fresh for this – bypassing the Dublin Racing Festival.

ECHOES IN RAIN (Mares’ Hurdle, Tues) @ 7/1 with BetUK
Fifth in this race 12 months ago, but Ruby Walsh feels the better quality field and likely stronger pace this year will help this Mullins-trained 7 year-old. She was a tidy 10 length winner at Naas last time out and being a hold-up performer, should have the race run to suit.

Why Not Put Ruby Walsh Cheltenham Tips In a 125/1 Treble?

You can plonk all three of Ruby’s desired Cheltenham rides in a treble at 125/1 – even a £5 stake will net you a tasty £630!
