Rugby 2023: Big-money stars Suliasi Vunivalu and James O’Connor miss out on invitation to Wallabies camp in World Cup year

Dave Rennie has named a 44-man Wallabies squad for a four-day gathering on the Gold Coast next week. Big-money stars Suliasi Vunivalu and James O'Connor were not invited. The players will be there for the first get-together of the new year before returning to their Super Rugby and overseas franchises.

Charlie Gamble, Langi Gleeson, Ned Hanigan, Jed Holloway, Michael Hooper, Rob Leota, Fraser McReight, Pete Samu, and Rob Valetini are the back-rowers.

Quade Cooper, Ben Donaldson, Noah Lolesio, Lalakai Foketi, Len Ikitau, Hunter Paisami, Izaia Perese, Samu Kerevi are the players in the match.

Suliasi Vunivalu and James O'Connor didn't get invites to the Rugby World Cup. VUnivalus has played just three minutes of international rugby since debuting against England in July. He was re-signed by RA on a lucrative one-year deal for 2023.
