Rugby 22 Review: Embracing running rugby

Rugby 22 is based on building up currency through performance and building a squad. There are no microtransactions in the game. The presentation is not great, but the player likeness is usually good enough and some of its animations look great. With some crisper passing, better defensive AI and balanced scrums, Rugby 22 would be a great rugby union game, although it's not as good as FIFA Ultimate Team. There is no randomisation of time of day and weather effects. It was fun to see a popup in game “you’ve kicked 500 times” or ‘got 100 turnovers‘ but it will only change how the most dedicated to the career mode will play.
