Rugby World Cup: England seek revenge over New Zealand in final

England are seeking revenge against New Zealand for taking the Rugby World Cup from them in 2017. They will play them at Eden Park in Auckland on Saturday. Katy Daley-Mclean, who captained England in the 2014 World cup, thinks it's a fairytale to win the tournament in New Zealander.

This Rugby World Cup has become bigger and better than any of the players from either side had dared to dream. A new record attendance for a women's rugby match of more than 40,000 is expected. New Zealanders cancelling Saturday night plans to make sure they can watch on television. Ruby Tui compared this week to the situation 12 years ago. She was told that women’s rugby didn't matter.

New Zealand women's team was made professional earlier this year. England's women have been given full-time contracts in 2019. New Zealand have won 11 consecutive matches since their last defeat to England.   The Black Ferns won five World Cups, four of which came by beating England in the final.

England and New Zealand are playing in Rugby World Cup final. Holly Aitchison and Emily Scarratt start together for the first time since the Red Roses won the 2022 Women's Six Nations Grand Slam in France. England coach Middleton is the World Rugby Coach of the Year in 2021.
