The Colorado Rockies and the San Francisco Giants meet Wednesday in MLB action from Oracle Park. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. The Giants posted a three-run win in the Monday opener. On Tuesday, San Francisco secured a blowout win to keep it going. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Colorado gave up three runs in the first three innings and never came back in an eventual 8-5 loss Monday. In the Tuesday game two, the Rockies couldn’t find much on the scoreboard from 10 hits in a 9-2 loss. Antonio Senzatela finished with 3.2 innings, five earned, seven hits and two walks.

Starter for the Rockies in the finale will be Chad Kuhl. In his five starts so far this year, Kuhl is 3-0 with a 1.82 ERA. Across 29.2 innings of work he’s put up 16 hits, six earned, nine walks and 22 strikeouts total.

Over on the Giants’ side, they managed 11 team hits (and gave up 11 hits) in the Monday win. On Tuesday, San Francisco notched 12 team hits in the victory. Starter Alex Wood lasted 5.1 clean frames with seven hits and a pair of walks.

Alex Cobb will be the starter for the Giants in the Wednesday finale. Cobb has started four games so far this year. In that time he’s 1-1 with a 4.80 ERA. In 15.0 innings he’s put up eight earned on 17 hits and six walks with 22 Ks.

The Rockies are 34-70 in their last 104 road game sand 29-63 in their last 93 road games versos a team with a winning record. Colorado is 5-14 in their last 19 versus the NL West.

Meanwhile, the Giants are 25-11 in their last 36 Wednesday games and 38-15 in their last 53 versus the NL West. San Francisco is 36-16 in their last 52 in game three of a series.

PICK: I’m going to try Colorado. Kuhl has been pretty solid lately. He’s put up five earned on 12 hits and four walks over 19.1 innings across his last three starts, going 2-0 in that time. Cobb has been up and down himself; he’s got six earned over his last 10.0 innings in three starts. Ultimately I don’t think either starter will do too badly here, but Kuhl and the Rockies probably have the advantage on a potential victory. Should be a fun way to close out the series.
