Saturday Plays: Single this Kentucky Derby prospect

Arctic Arrogance is the favorite in the Jerome Stakes at Aqueduct on Saturday. Daily Double suggests two deep closers in Queens County Stake one race later.

Arctic Arrogance wants to set the pace in the Jerome Stakes. Andiamo de Firenze is present. Arctic Arroccion is likely to outfoot him on the stretchout from six furlongs.

Arctic Arrogance is the favorite for the Remsen Stakes (G2) on December 3. He is going to be the main contender against Andiamo de Firenze. It's too early to say he must set the pace, but he might need to. An alternative choice is Neural Network, who makes the second start of his career after winning a local six-furlong maiden sprint on Nov. 13 by five lengths. He's a son of Cloud Computing out of a Street Cry mare named Lapinski. His dam line traces back to Cara Rafaela, which produced the 2006 Preakness, Travers Stake ( G1) and Jockey Club Gold Cup (g1).

Law Professor finished second in the Woodward Stakes on Oct. 1. Unbridled Bomber has dominated his last two starts in a local allowance race and optional claimer by the same margin. Bourbonic won the 2021 Wood Memorial Stake on this course and finished 13th in Kentucky Derby and fifth in Belmont St. Stages. He went on the shelf for a year and made his return in local seven-furlong allowance on Dec. 3. He finished a good fourth by only four lengths.
