Sean Murphy ready to get to work with the Braves

Sean Murphy was traded to the Atlanta Braves from the Oakland Athletics on Monday. The Braves also sent pitchers Kyle Muller, Freddy Tarnok and Royber Salinas to Oakland along with veteran catcher Manny Pina and William Contreras to Milwaukee. Murphy is currently living in Nashville and planning to work out with Kyle Wright this offseason. He is excited about the chance to play with quality pitchers in the spring. He played in 330 games for Oakland and played as a DH in 30 games. His new team wants to emphasize defensive first approach to catcher position. It is a process that will play out throughout the season.
