Georgia and Kirby Smart won their first national championship since 1980 by defeating Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Georgia lost a lot of key players, but it still has a historically good defense. Alabama is the betting favorite to win the SEC in 2022.

Alabama won 13 games in the last season and defeated Georgia in SEC Championship. Bryce Young is the best quarterback in college football. The team is stacked with talented players. Nick Saban likes this team and calls them a fun group to coach. Alabama is a favorite to win the SEC championship.

Georgia won the national championship last season. Georgia had a record 15 players taken in April's NFL draft. The team will be one of the best in the country, playing in East Division in SEC. Stetson Bennett and the Bulldogs' offense might be the key to the team's success this season, with 29 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.

Kentucky is a sleeper pick in the SEC betting previews. Will Levis is the quarterback and Chris Rodriguez Jr. has a chance to break Benny Snell’s school rushing record. Mark Stoops did a good job in signing the transfer portal. Kentucky is in East and gets Georgia at home.

Alabama is a good bet to win the SEC this season. Bryce Young and Jahmyr Gibbs are going to be good. Alabama is motivated and has a deep roster.

Billy Napier took over at Florida after a 6-7 season. He is bringing in a new culture and a young quarterback, Anthony Richardson. The team had talent last year, but they were undisciplined and ranked 117th in penalties per game. They came within a hair of beating Alabama last season, and they went 18-8 ATS in Napiers first two seasons there. They are a couple of years away from getting back to the Top of the SEC East, however. If things fall right for them, they could be surprisingly competitive this season if they improve.

Tennessee is the best bet for 2022. The Vols were a great bet last year at 9-3. They have a good offense and a questionable defense. Auburn is a team that is not going to be an elite unit this season. The Tigers are not a very good team. Alabama and Tennessee scored more than 14 points in a game against Georgia last season and the Vol's defense allowed more.

Texas A&M is the third-best team in the SEC. They beat everyone in SEC but Alabama last season and are favored in every game this season. Their best bet is to bet the Aggies over 8.5 (-150).

Jahmyr Gibbs is a transfer from Georgia Tech and is expected to have a big season in Tuscaloosa. He averaged 5.2 yards per carry in two years for the Yellow Jackets and caught 60 passes.

Alabama is the favorite to win the SEC this season. They are also the +175 college football national championship favorites. Their schedule is favorable. They play early season games against Texas and Georgia.

At least one SEC team has played in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in each of the last seven seasons.
