Antonio Reeves Talks Kentucky's Win Over Tennessee

The SEC Tournament was once the Kentucky Invitational Tournament. John Calipari dominated the event for a decade, taking home the title six times in his first nine years as the Wildcats’ head coach. That trend has dramatically changed in recent years.

Since Kentucky cut down the nets in St. Louis to win the 2018 SEC Tournament, the Wildcats are just 2-4 in the event. They did not get a chance to compete in the 2020 conference tournament.

The field has been set for the 2024 single-elimination tournament in Nashville. Thanks to a victory over Tennessee in the regular season finale, the Wildcats are the No. 2 seed, facing the winner of Ole Miss vs. Texas A&M on Friday evening at 7 pm EST. Alabama or Florida could be waiting for the Wildcats in the semifinals.

Over at DraftKings, Kentucky is the third choice to win this week’s SEC Tournament in Nashville.

Auburn +260

If you believe the Big Blue is going on a big run through the NCAA Tournament, you’re hopping on the bandwagon a little too late. Earlier this week Kentucky was +750 to make the Final Four on FanDuel. Kentucky’s Final Four odds dropped to +450, only slightly better than what you can get the Cats to cut down the nets in Nashville.

You can still get some nice juice on Kentucky to win the National Championship. At FanDuel the Wildcats are tied with Duke as the seventh choice to be the last team standing in Phoenix.

UConn +480
Houston +650
Purdue +700
Tennessee +1000
